Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa
This is a three year provisional work visa for eligible overseas students and holders of certain temporary Australian visas who can meet the lower pass mark for this skilled visa.
This visa requires you to be either:
- nominated by a participating State or Territory government agency; OR
- sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated area of Australia.
This Australian work visa may be applied for inside or outside Australia and all applicants must meet health and character criteria. Visa applicants will also need to meet the English language requirement and be under the age of 45 at the time of visa application.

After living in Australia in a Specified Regional Area for two years and working in Australia for at least one year in a Specified Regional Area, these skilled workers can apply for a permanent work visa.
