Amongst other criteria, applicants for this student visa must meet English language requirements and have suitable funds to cover their basic financial requirements (such as course fees, living costs and travel costs).

If you are studying a non-award course as a pre-requisite to another course, you must apply for the visa which is appropriate for your main course of study in Australia. If you are studying several courses, the main course is the higher level course. For example, if you are undertaking a non-award foundation course as a prerequisite to undertaking a diploma course, the diploma course will be the primary course and you should apply for a VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING SECTOR VISA.
