Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS)

This work visa is designed to respond to the needs of Australian employers by allowing them to recruit and nominate skilled people to fill positions that cannot be filled from the Australian labour market or through their own staff training. The employees can be either highly skilled workers from overseas or highly skilled temporary residents currently in Australia.

This Australian work visa may be applied for inside or outside Australia and all applicants must meet health and character criteria. Certain work visa applicants will also need to meet the English language requirement.

Employer Requirements

  1. Lawfully and actively operating business
  2. Direct employer of the employee
  3. Good business record and abide by immigration laws
  4. The Employment must be of benefit to Australia
  5. Demonstrate that their Australian business operations advance the skills of the existing workforce
  6. Have a current training strategy for existing Australian employees, or if a newly established business, have a training plan for future training of Australian employees
  7. Position requirements - the nominated position must be a permanent full-time of no less than three years, meet all relevant Australian laws and award conditions, meet the minimum skills level and meet the minimum salary level
  8. English language - certain work visa applicants will need to meet the English language requirement.
